The bees do their work. The beekeeper does hers. And little Felicia, with the honesty and faith of a child, takes the fruit of the bee and the beekeeper's efforts and lights her candle and prays. She prays once, she prays twice, she prays three prayers, then watches the breeze from the window carry her prayers from the candle heavenward.
Josiah and Julia love to go to church. They love to venerate the icons, light candles, and eat the blessed bread. Sometimes they behave very well but sometimes they make mistakes. Little ones can follow Josiah and Julia through the Liturgy and learn how even the youngest child can honor God by behaving properly in church.
At Pascha, Eastern Catholics all over the world dye and bless red eggs. Here is the story of how this tradition started—way back in apostolic times, with St. Mary Magdalene and a blessed miracle that dazzled the unbelieving Roman emperor with the reality and power of Christ's Resurrection.

Elizabeth has a problem: She wants to pray in church more than anything, but every time she tries to pray, her feet start tapping. How can she pray if she can’t stay still? When a dragon appears on the monastery’s land and the only solution is prayer, Elizabeth worries even more. She turns to the abbess and the saints for help. Through their guidance and intercession, Elizabeth learns that our whole bodies have a place in prayer, and sometimes our spiritual weaknesses can be a gift that God uses for great good. This wonderfully fun story, illustrated to capture the hearts of busy children, was inspired by the life of the sixth-century saint, Elizabeth the Wonderworker.
About the Author: Amber writes from her current home in Iowa, though she began this story while she and her husband were still students at St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary in New York. In her free time, she likes to cross-stitch, cook, and chase around her own, very active, young Elizabeth.
About the Illustrator: Clare is an illustrator, animator, and web developer based in Memphis, Tennessee. She co-owns her design studio, Pretty Useful Co., where she focuses on elevating brands through clear and compelling visual communication. In her free time, she likes to knit, play tabletop games, and spend time with her husband, Jake.

Journey back to the sixth century and join St. Brendan the Navigator, known as one of the Twelve Apostles of Ireland, and his crew on their seven-year seafaring adventure! As the crew of Irish monks searches for the "Promised Land of Saints," they encounter sea monsters, dodge erupting volcanoes, happen upon the Isle of the Strong Men, and encounter a community of silent monks. The legendary journey (which may or may not be true!) is retold in this graphic novel, illustrated by English artist, Mike Stonelake, in the Bande Dessinée style. From celebrating Pascha on the back of a whale, to dispelling the torment of evil spirits, Brendan's pilgrimage hones his character and tests his resolve, courage, and faith.
About the Author/Illustrator: Mike grew up in suburban West London in the ’70s and ’80s, one of five brothers and part of a very religious, Calvinist family. Comics like the Beano were a part of every child’s life back then, although they had to be smuggled into his home. Growing up without a TV was difficult, so when he found an Asterix comic book in the local library, it changed his life. From then on the brothers keenly purchased or sought Asterix and Tintin books at the library and shared them.
Art was the only subject Mike excelled at in school. He tried to be more serious when attending art school, painting large abstract canvases, but after getting a job in a design studio, he rediscovered his original love for illustration. This is when he started drawing cartoons again, creating a comic with a friend that featured cartoons about religion and church. After marrying and moving to St. Petersburg in the 1990s, where he converted to Orthodoxy, Mike and his wife opened a gallery and publishing house back in London that specialized in art and photography from the former Soviet Union. In addition to cartoons, Mike illustrates for advertising and editorials, literature and branding, and designs books. He still lives in West London with his two daughters (when they’re home from their travels), a whippet, and a cat. He enjoys walking and boating holidays in the north of England.
